Free consultation

A free consultation is a brief, no-obligation conversation with Lisa. It's a chance for you to learn more about what approaches are offered and fees, as well as to ask questions and get a sense of whether you'd feel comfortable working with Lisa. Lisa may also ask you some questions to understand your needs and goals for therapy. This initial meeting helps you both to decide if you are a good fit for each other before committing to ongoing sessions.

Phone call

Why I started Counselling

My name is Lisa Scott,

My path to this career wasn't straightforward. It was born from my own struggles with anxiety.

For a long time, I felt trapped in a cycle of fear. Going out felt impossible, the thought of socialising filled me with dread, and a constant sense of impending doom loomed over me. I was always on edge, convinced something terrible was about to happen. It was an isolating and exhausting experience. Because anxiety is invisible, it felt like no one truly understood what I was going through.

That's why I decided to become a counsellor. I wanted to use my experience to help others navigate the challenges of mental health. I knew how scary it could be, how lonely it could feel, and I wanted to offer a safe space for others to share their struggles without fear of judgment.

Completing my counselling qualifications (levels 2, 3, 4, and 5) was a transformative journey. It equipped me with the skills and knowledge to support others, but more importantly, it deepened my empathy and understanding. Now, I can truly connect with my clients, offering them the compassion and guidance I so desperately needed during my own struggles.

I am a BACP member, and follow the ethical frame work to maintain a professional standard within my pracitice, I have Public Liability.

I have my own supervision every month, to maintain professional development within counselling. My own journey of overcoming anxiety has instilled a profound empathy for my clients. I believe in creating a safe and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment

My personal story is a testament to the power of healing and growth. It's a reminder that even when hope seems lost, there is a way forward. And it fuels my passion to help others find their own path towards recovery and wellbeing.

"I had a course of CBT with Lisa after an eye surgery went wrong ! And OMG! I literally have accepted that my eye isn’t getting better ever and that is just fine ! It wasn’t my fault there’s nothing I can do to change things and I can now work around things by learning positive constructive thinking ….. I was a tiny bit sceptical If I would be able to understand what CBT was but now after a course I know enough to know everything is as it is AND THATS OK ! Which I am very happy about . ANYONE who wants to ask me about what it was like please feel free to contact me!!"
